![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() No game of this size or complexity, from any dev, is going to be bug free though. By all accounts the devs have been implying that Deadfire is quite a bit larger than PoE is. Plus with a game of this size you want reviewers to spend as much time as possible with the game. Hard to say if this kind of thing occurs or not, but we do see clarifiers in reviews all the time that state devs are aware of an issue and patching it or that a release day patch is scheduled, but the reviewer didn't get a chance to test it. An embargo potentially gives them time/opportunity to patch those issues before reviews go live so they won't be mentioned, which is pretty critical for smaller games. One would hope they are in decent contact with reviewers to see if any serious bugs or issues are being encountered. I don't care for the practice much of release day embargoes but there are likely potential benefits, especially for smaller devs.
